Matt Dames never imagined that he would be taking the path that he has been traveling for the past few years. Matt’s interest in photography developed while he was in high school. Photography started as a hobby for Matt, and soon developed into a lifestyle.Matt began taking photography classes at Moorpark College where hediscovered his love and natural talent for photography. Matt excelled in all of his photography classes and set the standard for his peers. Matt participated in a project documenting the aftermath of the fires that swept through Ventura County in 2003. These images led Matt to his first solo gallery showing at Moorpark College.Matt’s instructors convinced him that he had a special talent, and should pursue his love and passion of photography. He began to research theprestigious Brooks Institute of Photography and instantly knew that Brooks was the school for him. Matt is currently in his third and final year at Brooks.“Photography is not just my hobby, but also my passion and how I live my life. I love photography because it is ever changing and there is never a dull moment. Every shot is a new adventure.” Along with going to school full time, Matt is also working as a freelance retoucher for SONY PICTURES. Matt graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography in December 2007, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Professional Photography.
